Maria Sapio was born in Italy and grew up in Germany, developing a rich and multifaceted personality through the combined influence of the two cultures.

From her youngest years, she demonstrated a strong interest in fashion, and her passion grew so much that she decided to return to her native country to learn its fundamentals and to deepen her understanding of Fashion Design techniques.
She attended Polimoda in Florence, where she specialized in knitwear.

Her experience evolved through collaborations with numerous businesses in the knitwear sector and in yarn and wool textile production.
She experimented with various techniques and production styles, ranging from the field of children’s clothing to women’s knitwear to the development of entire yarn collections, and from Home Design to the creation of installations for the Pitti Immagine Filati trade fair.
Maria is the creator of KnitProject, a Knit Forecast Trendbook and fashion publication distributed internationally. For years it has predicted and dictated global trends in knitwear, becoming an essential tool for fashion and interior design professionals.
After many years spent exploring and innovating in the yarn world and in the art of knitwear, in 2018 Maria presented her first Knit Couture collection at White in Milan during Fashion Week.
During the same year, Mario Boselli, honorary president of the National Chamber of Italian Fashion, recognized her in the Contemporary Fashion Brand division of the Taomoda Awards.
In September 2020 Maria is selected by Altaroma to present her S / S 2021 Collection at Showcase and for the fashion show at Rome is my Runway.
